Mild Disaster Studios Is Open for Business

We are two people who spent years working in the tech industry — different roles, same frustration. The games we actually wanted to play weren't being made. Or if they were, they were buried under battle passes, loot boxes, and design decisions that felt like they were made by a spreadsheet rather than a person who actually plays games.

So we stopped waiting.

Why We Started

It wasn't a grand plan. It was a conversation that went something like: "What if we just built it ourselves?" We had the technical background. We had the time. We had strong opinions about what makes a game worth playing. The only thing missing was the nerve to actually do it.

Turns out the nerve was there too.

Mild Disaster Studios is the result. Two people, no publisher, no board of directors, no roadmap dictated by quarterly earnings. Just two developers who care too much about games and decided to bet on that.

What We Are Building

We have two projects in active development right now.

Project Dumpster Fire is an open world zombie survival game built around immersive character mechanics and nightly raids that escalate the longer you survive. Procedurally generated world. Deep crafting. The kind of game where every decision matters because the next night is always harder than the last.

Project Meltdown is a procedurally assembled room-by-room survival game set inside a dormant nuclear reactor. Your team enters to bring the systems back online. The facility is overrun with irradiated creatures and every corridor is a puzzle. Solve the systems. Survive the monsters. Get out.

Both are early in development. Both are subject to change. But the core of what we are building — games that respect your time and reward your skill — that doesn't change.

What Comes Next

We will be posting devlogs here as we build. Not polished marketing content. Actual updates about what we are working on, what is going wrong, what we figured out, and where the projects are headed.

If that sounds like something you want to follow, stick around. We are just getting started.
